A bride’s prayer before the chuppah

EnglishHebrewEnglish transliteration

The L-rd brings the lonely into a home. “G-d said: Let us make the human being in Our image, according to Our likeness…” “G-d created the human being in His image; in the image of G-d He created him…” “The L-rd G-d fashioned the part He had taken from the man into a woman, and brought her to the man.” “G-d blessed them and said to them: Be fruitful, multiply and fill the earth.”
You, L-rd G-d, the great, mighty and awesome G-d, created heaven and earth. You created the human being and breathed a soul into him. You created man and woman and impressed Your holy Name upon them: the letter yud in ish, man, and the letter heh in ishah, woman, for their union and to teach them that, if they merit it, the Shechinah will dwell among them. Therefore I, the woman standing before You today, L-rd G-d, holy G-d, am ready to enter the wedding canopy in holiness and purity with my bridegroom, according to the law of Moses and Israel, Your servants. I now lay my prayer and supplications before the throne of Your glory, asking You to forgive me and my bridegroom all our wrongdoing, sins and transgressions, as it is written: “He who finds a wife finds good and draws forth the L-rd’s favor.” May our transgressions be erased through repentance, good deeds and the wedding canopy.
