Preparation
Beet latkes (also known as beet patties) are a wonderful alternative to traditional latkes for anyone who enjoys variety or watches their calorie intake, but not to the point of giving up the Hanukkah tradition of “eating foods cooked in oil”!
Boil the beets until cooked, peel them, and grate them on the coarse side of a grater.
Season with pepper and salt, add the finely chopped garlic, eggs, and semolina, and mix everything well.
Form patties using a tablespoon, place them in a frying pan heated with vegetable oil, and fry on both sides until cooked through.
Serve with sour cream (or without it if it is a meat meal :) ).
Enjoy your meal!
