Blessing children before Yom Kippur

Blessing children before Yom Kippur

EnglishHebrewEnglish transliteration

May G-d make you like Ephraim and Manasseh! May the L-rd bless you and protect you. May the L-rd shine His face upon you and be gracious to you. May the L-rd turn His face toward you and grant you peace.
May it be the will of your Father in heaven to place love and reverence for Him in your heart. May reverence for the Almighty be upon your face all your days, so that you do not sin. May you have a strong desire and longing for Torah and the commandments. May your eyes look toward truth, your mouth speak wisdom and your heart contemplate profound things. May your hands be occupied with commandments and your feet run to fulfill your Father in heaven’s will. May He grant you righteous sons and daughters, devoted to Torah and the commandments throughout their lives. May your fountain be blessed. May He provide your sustenance in a permitted way, with tranquility and abundance, from His generous hand rather than gifts from flesh and blood—sustenance that frees you to serve the Almighty. May you be inscribed and sealed for a good and long life among all the righteous people of Israel. Amen.
