Purim is just around the corner, and once again it is time for a look at that “timeless” topic—Purim costumes :)
This time I’d like to break with tradition and talk about costumes that aren’t for children. They’re for those who are still children at heart, and for anyone whose inner child has suddenly come out to play ;)
You and I have also earned that special Purim pleasure—turning into someone else ...even if it is “only” within the walls of our own home, right? (Grown men and women would not go out in just any costume, for example, to the synagogue for the reading of the Scroll of Esther).
So, first in our lineup this time are costumes for moms. More specifically
Costumes for brand-new moms—those whose infants are always attached to them—well, let them stay there; let’s play up the situation:

Mom as a Stork with a little package, Mom as a Mushroom with a little Gnome, Mom as Chiquita with a little Banana, Mom as an Artist with a palette... There are many possible “pairs” like these, such as Mom as a Rose with a Bee (or a Hummingbird), or an American favorite—Milk and Cookie (milk with a little cookie—guess who gets to be the milk ;)?)... And finally, my favorite -
Mom as a Matryoshka: I didn’t realize from the first photo what was special about this rosy-cheeked little nesting doll :)

(By the way, the Matryoshka option works not only for a mom of one, but also for a mom with many children ;) ) And a couple more fun ideas for moms:

Moving on. Costumes for babywearing dads, that is, dads who are willing to run around toting their little one :)
(The key here is to detach the younger participants in the costume before the meal at which Dad will be fulfilling the mitzvah of “ad delo yada”):

Yes, Dad can do it... A costume with Dad and one without Dad are two very different things!
Take a look at how different Ratatouille, or Masha and the Bear, can look...

To give them their due, dads also love to “let loose” on Purim on their own. On Purim, you can often encounter a seasoned Pirate, a magnificent Sultan, or even... a fluffy Bunny nearly 2 meters tall in the synagogue or on the street.

Of course, moms keep up with them too... but mostly in their imaginations. The reason is simple—we’re modest women, after all! Sometimes we would like to, but where could we go in costume? The whole neighborhood would stare after us... But for the boldest among us, for those living in a community where adults traditionally dress up, and for those firmly determined to dress up under the cover of their own home—
Options for moms ladies:
For those who often feel that their everyday costume is this one

But perhaps your true role is that of a queen? Perhaps all you need to feel that way is a teeny little golden crown... or a large, regal dress?

Or perhaps you are Princess Leia? Or an elven princess...

One thing is certain—you are a true masterpiece! (Preferably not one by Picasso, of course ;) )... And you are also “perfection itself”!
