Elul—"I Forgive Myself"

The month of Elul. At this time, the Almighty is especially gracious to us. It is the perfect time for intensive work on ourselves.

For several years now, I have been attending various classes on self-awareness. And when, out of an enormous amount of information, you suddenly don't just understand or accept something, but feel—yes, that's exactly how it is... What an amazing feeling!

Forgiveness and gratitude, gratitude and forgiveness—how much they give us, how much they teach us...

During the month of Elul, on Rosh Hashanah, and during the 10 Days of Repentance, we try to reexamine our lives, our thoughts, deeds, and conversations. As a rule, we know what to ask forgiveness for and what to put right.

But how important it is also to recognize our own successes, to accept being right here and now, with these very difficulties, relationships, problems, feelings, and, of course, successes—each of us at our own level.

How important it is right now to grant yourself forgiveness, to forgive yourself! And to let go.

Let go of regrets about the past, worries about the future, self-reproach, dissatisfaction, hurt feelings, anger, despair, someone else's lack of understanding, someone else's lack of attention. And remember that the way we are treated reflects, as in a mirror, the way we treat ourselves. Everything we are not ready to give ourselves or do for ourselves. Everything within ourselves that we are not ready to accept or listen to... No one, no one will ever be able to do this for us, or in our place.

How can we work on forgiving ourselves, how can we let go, how can we learn to be grateful? Luule Viilma's book "Soul Light. I Forgive Myself" opened my eyes to so much. Quite frankly, it astounded me! The author—a physician, gynecologist, and psychic—worked miracles, healing bodies and souls.

It is no secret that our physical health depends directly on our thoughts and feelings.

That is exactly what she talks about—so clearly, so precisely. And about how forgiveness can heal so many things. And about honesty in our relationships with ourselves, with our loved ones, and with our children. And about where childhood illnesses come from and what they can tell us. For example, perpetually blocked little ears that are tired of listening to endless criticism... Or a tendency to suffer fractures... And about why childbirth is sometimes so difficult. (Oh, my dear mothers-to-be, how important it is to prepare for childbirth! Physically, emotionally, and spiritually!) And about many other things as well. All in all, it is worth reading!

I wish you fruitful work on yourself! I wish you freedom from old, lingering memories, hurts, and feelings.. And a fresh start, as it should be, with a clean slate, renewed strength and hope, good intentions and good deeds!

With G-d's help, may you have a good year—healthy, successful, and joyful! With prosperity and an abundance of goodness and light!
