Moroccan-Style Fish and a Primer on the Days of Mourning

From 1 through 10 Av, the Jewish people mourn the destroyed Temple. This period is also considered unfavorable for any new undertakings and extremely dangerous to life. For this reason, we should not put ambitious plans into action (signing contracts, making expensive purchases, going to the seaside or other places where there may be danger) – WE EXERCISE CAUTION.

As for the laws of mourning, we do not throw lively parties, wear new clothes, do laundry, or iron (except if there is nothing in the wardrobe to wear, or in the case of children's clothes or clothes for Shabbat). We do not spend half an hour in the shower (one, two, and we're washed)). No sewing or knitting.

It is also customary not to eat meat dishes; they can be replaced with fish dishes (a little recipe is included).
