Mulled Wine — A Tried and Tested Recipe
MULLED WINE is the most delicious, warming, and relaxing winter drink.
I have to mention its health benefits. Mulled wine is considered an indispensable remedy at the first signs of a cold. Hot wine helps dilate blood vessels and increase circulation. Cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, and ginger dilate blood vessels and improve circulation; they also have an antiseptic effect, allowing disease-causing bacteria to be quickly overcome.
Here's a tried and tested recipe—be sure to try it at your next party.

Combine the ingredients in a large pot:

1/2 bottle of red wine (any kind)
1/2 bottle of grape juice
1-2 oranges, diced
1 apple, diced
Cinnamon: 1 stick or 1 teaspoon
Ground ginger: 1 teaspoon
Cloves: 5 buds
Nutmeg: 1/4 tsp.
Cardamom: 3 seeds
This is a low-alcohol version of mulled wine; if you wish, you can replace the juice with wine and add a little rum.
Have a healthy and delicious winter!
