There is a particular situation that drives us up the wall, drains all our energy, and spoils our mood. Constant clutter, unsorted laundry, dirty windows.
You have finally decided to put your apartment in order, and you don't know where to begin!
If you rush to wash the windows, it will most likely make a fairly noticeable but insignificant difference. Why insignificant? Because it is unlikely to affect other areas of household life. But if, for example, you sort out the laundry, you will free up the surface it was lying on, be able to get the children ready for kindergarten easily in the morning, save time getting ready, and prevent arguments and shouting.
When deciding where to begin, it is worth asking yourself: «What will affect the rest of the household more than anything else?»
Perhaps sorting out the things in your bedroom will give you a cozy place to relax and rest, allowing you to start the day with renewed energy. Or perhaps a quick tidy of the living room will please your husband, and he will be happy to sit in a clean room and play with the children while you rest.
The same can be said of a situation where you come home from work and are afraid to take a step in the living room: toys are scattered on the floor among books, with clothes and rubber boots tossed nearby. The children have eaten in the living room, and there are grains of cereal, ketchup stains, and spilled water on the table and within half a meter of it. Usually, Mom just wants to run away or starts shouting out of desperation!
Try applying the Pareto principle, «20\80»: «20% of the effort produces 80% of the results, while the remaining 80% of the effort produces only 20% of the results».
It is worth considering what bothers you most. For most people, it will be the food remnants. Once you remove them and wipe the table, you will already feel considerably better. And it will take 5-10 minutes at most.
