Prayer before lighting Shabbat candles

Master of all worlds! It is revealed and known before the throne of Your glory that I am about to light a candle in honor of holy Shabbat, to fulfill my Creator’s commandment with love, joy and delight in my heart, as You have commanded me.
May it be Your will, L-rd G-d, G-d of Israel, to grant me light, joy, delight, dignity, grace, kindness, compassion, goodwill, a good life, blessing and peace, in the upper and lower worlds alike. Illuminate us and every level of our souls with the light of Your radiant face, for in the light of the King’s face there is life; with You is the fountain of life, and in Your light we see light. Light is sown for the righteous. The L-rd is my light and my salvation. G-d is the L-rd, and He will give us light. May G-d be gracious to us and bless us, and make His face shine upon us, forever. May the L-rd shine His face upon us and be gracious to us with the hidden light, the light of life, of which it is said: “G-d said: Let there be light, and there was light.” Amen, for all eternity.
