Прощаясь с заповедью сукки, мы молимся о том, чтобы следующий год стал годом нашего избавления. Ливьятан, гиганское морское существо, упоминаемое в Талмуде и мидрашах, будет, согласно обещанию Всевышнего, зарезан в будущем, и его мясо подано на трапезу для праведников в мире грядущем, а из его кожи - сделана сукка, в которой соберется весь Израиль.
Перед тем, как последний раз выходят из сукки (в Израиле - в Ошана раба, за границей - в Шмини Ацерет), произносят:

Master of the universe! May it be Your will that the holy angels connected with the commandment of sukkah and the commandment of the four species—lulav, etrog, hadas and aravah—fulfilled on Sukkot, accompany us as we leave the sukkah and enter our home with us, for life and peace. May they always be a heavenly protection for us from Your holy dwelling, rescuing us from every sin and wrongdoing, every mishap and every harmful hour, forever. Pour upon us a spirit from on high and renew our vessels for serving You truly, with love and reverence. Root us firmly in the study of Your holy Torah, to learn and teach it. May the merit of the four species and the sukkah stand for us, so that You defer Your anger until we return to You in complete repentance. May we repair everything we have damaged and merit the two tables, without grief or sorrow, I, my household and my descendants. May we all be calm and tranquil, fruitful and fresh, serving Your Name in truth and according to Your will, together with all the children of Israel.
