Rabbi Avraham Kuperman is a Torah teacher also known through recordings of prayer and biblical readings. Born in Jerusalem in 1958, he is the son of Rabbi Yehuda Kuperman, founder of Michlalah in Bayit Vegan. He studied at the Hebron yeshiva. Toldot Yeshurun’s biographical profile describes his teaching and leadership of a study group at the Mir yeshiva. His wife is Rebbetzin Chava Kuperman, daughter of Rabbi Yitzchak Zilber.
Study and the voice of prayer
His published work includes study of biblical language and reflection on serving God. Another part of his teaching is chazzanut, the traditional leading of prayer. Recordings include Rosh Hashanah services, Shabbat songs and readings for Tisha B’Av, allowing listeners to encounter the prayer melodies through his own performance.
