Preparation
A recipe from the “Bread Machine Secrets” series. I personally love rye bread (half rye flour, half whole wheat flour) with walnuts. I use lots of nuts, and even my children all eat it.
Set the bread machine to the whole wheat cycle. If the dough is stiff (you can hear this, as the bread machine struggles to turn), add a couple of spoonfuls of water during the cycle.
You can first cut the nuts for the dough into halves or quarters; they are easy to slice through later, and the sliced bread looks very attractive.
You can use other nuts besides walnuts, according to taste, and you can also add caraway seeds or fried onions to rye bread (for example, dried fried onions are sold in the spice section).
