Preparation
"Uga Kushit" is that unique chocolate cake loved by every single child, without which not a single children's party in Israel is complete.
Through careful family taste-testing, we have found what we consider the best recipe :). Now you, too, can make this cake, similar to yet different from thousands of other chocolate cakes, called "uga kushit" (literally, "African American cake" ;-) )!
Preheat the oven to 170ºC. In a bowl, mix the oil, eggs, sugar, cocoa, and flour mixed with baking powder. Add the cream (or another liquid ingredient of your choice) and mix again. Pour the batter into a pan lightly greased with vegetable oil and bake for 30-40 minutes, checking for doneness with a wooden skewer.
Prepare the topping: heat the remaining half of the cream in the microwave or in a small saucepan. Break the chocolate into pieces, place it in a small bowl, and pour the very hot cream over it. Mix until smooth and glossy. Spread the still-hot chocolate mixture evenly over the warm (not yet cooled) cake.
Once cooled, cover the cake with plastic wrap or foil and store it in the refrigerator. Decorate with colorful candies if desired.
For a large family, making a double batch right away is recommended :)
