May it be Your will, L-rd our G-d and G-d of our ancestors, through the Tehillim we have read before You, through these songs, verses, words and Your holy and pure Names arising from them, to forgive all our wrongdoing, cleanse us of all our sins, and pardon and have compassion on us for all the transgressions we have committed—wrongdoing, sins and transgressions. Bring us back to You after our complete repentance before You, direct us to Your service, open our hearts to the study of Your Torah, and send complete healing to the sick among Your people [and to the sick person (name), son/daughter of (mother’s name)]. Proclaim freedom to the captives and the opening of prison to those imprisoned. Protect all travelers of Your people Israel, all who cross seas and rivers, from suffering and injury, and let them reach their destinations in health and peace. Remember all the childless by granting them enduring offspring who will serve You and revere You. Protect pregnant women among Your people, the house of Israel, from miscarriage. In Your great kindness, protect women in childbirth from every evil. Provide nursing mothers with abundance, so that they do not lack milk. Let askera, all evil spirits, demons and lilin, every misfortune and harmful illness have no power over any children of Your people, the house of Israel. Raise them for Your teaching, so that they may study Torah for its own sake; protect them from the evil eye, plague, epidemic, the adversary and an evil disposition. Annul all harsh and harmful decrees threatening us and all Your people, the house of Israel, everywhere. Incline the hearts of rulers toward good, so that their laws will be favorable to us. Send blessing and success to all the work of our hands. Provide us with livelihood from Your generous and full hand, so that the children of Your people, the house of Israel, need not depend on one another or on another nation. Grant each person sufficient sustenance and each body everything it needs. Hasten our redemption and restore our Temple, our glory. Through Your thirteen attributes of compassion written in Your Torah, as it is said: “G-d, G-d, mighty, compassionate and gracious, patient; abundant in kindness and truth; remembering kindness for thousands of generations; forgiving wrongdoing, transgression and error, and cleansing…”—which do not return empty from You—help us, G-d of our salvation, for the glory of Your Name! Deliver us and forgive our sins for the sake of Your Name. Blessed is G-d forever! Amen and amen! Amen; may this be Your will! | Yehi ratson milefanekha A-doynoy Elohay vElohey avotay, she-vizkhut mizmorey hatehilim shekaranu lefanekha, u-bizkhut psukeyhem vetevoteyhem, veotiyoteyhem unekudoteyhem, vetaameyhem, u-bizkhut shmotekha hakdoshim vehatehorim hayotsim mehem. May it be Your will, G-d, our G-d and G-d of our ancestors, that through the Tehillim we have read before You, through these songs, verses, words and Your holy and pure Names arising from them, our recitation be counted as though David, king of Israel, himself had recited them—may his merits protect us. May we unite the “wife of youth” with her Beloved through love, fellowship and friendship, and may influence flow from there upon the three aspects of our soul: nefesh, ruach and neshamah. Just as we recite songs in this world, may we merit reciting song and praise before You, G-d, our G-d and G-d of our ancestors, in the world to come. Through reading Tehillim, may the “lily of Sharon” awaken to sing with a pleasant voice of joy and praise of Lebanon’s glory. We shall grant her honor and splendor in the house of our G-d, soon, in our days. May Israel’s deliverance come from Zion! When the L-rd brings back the captives of His people, Jacob will rejoice and Israel will be glad!
