May it be Your will, L-rd our G-d and G-d of our ancestors, who chose Your servant David and his descendants after him and chose songs and praises, to accept with compassion the Tehillim I am about to read, as though King David himself, peace be upon him, had recited them. May his merits protect us. May the merit of the verses of Tehillim stand for us, together with the merit of their words, letters, vowel signs and cantillation marks, and of the holy Names formed from the initial and final letters of their words, to atone for our transgressions, wrongdoing and sins; to cut down oppressors and remove the thorns and brambles surrounding the heavenly Rose; and to unite the Bride of Youth with her Beloved in love, fellowship and friendship. May that union draw abundance to our animal soul, spirit and higher soul—nefesh, ruach and neshamah, to cleanse our wrongdoing, forgive our sins and atone for our transgressions, as You forgave David when he recited these Tehillim before You, as it is said: “The L-rd has also put away your sin; you shall not die.” Do not take us from this world before our time, before our years are complete, so that we may repair what we have damaged. May the merit of King David, peace be upon him, protect us and stand on our behalf, so that You will be patient and wait until we return to You in complete repentance. Grant us from Your treasury of undeserved mercy, as it is written: “I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and have compassion on whom I will have compassion.” Just as we recite song before You in this world, may we merit reciting song and praise before You, L-rd our G-d, in the world to come. Through the recitation of Tehillim, may the Rose of Sharon be inspired to sing with a pleasant voice, joy and enthusiasm. May she receive the glory of Lebanon, splendor and majesty in the house of our G-d, soon in our days. Amen, forever and ever! | Yehi ratson milefanekha A-doynoy Eloheynu vElohey avoteynu habokher beDavid avdo u-ve-zaro akharav, ve-habokher be-shirot ve-tishbakhot, she-tefen be-rakhamim el kriyat mikhmorey tehilim she-ekra ke-ilu amaram David hamelekh alav hashalom beatsmo, zkhuto tagen aleynu.Ve-taamad lanu zkhut psukey tehilim uzkhut tevoteyhem ve-otiyoteyhem u-nekudoteyhem ve-taameyhem ve-hashemot hayotsim mehem me-rashey tevot u-mi-sofey tevot, lekhaper pshaeynu va-avonoteynu ve-khatoteynu, u-lezamer aritsim u-lehakhrit kol hakhokhim ve-hakotsim masovevim et hashoshana haelyona, u-lekhaber eshet neurim im dodah be-ahava v-akhava ve-reut.

Come, let us sing to the L-rd and sound the shofar to the Rock of our salvation! Let us come before Him with thanksgiving and sing hymns before Him, for the L-rd is a great G-d and a great King above all rulers. Nekadma fanav be-toda, bi-zmirot naria lo; Ki El gadol A-doynoy, u-melekh gadol al kol elohim. |
