Rabbanit Yemima Mizrachi: biography and Torah teaching

Rabbanit Yemima Mizrachi is an Israeli Torah educator and author whose classes address women of different ages and religious backgrounds. She grew up in Jerusalem, studied law at the Hebrew University, practiced as a lawyer and trained as a rabbinical court advocate before making teaching her principal work.

The parashah and women’s lives

She has given regular classes since the early 2000s; the weekly publication Parasha VeIsha began in 2003. Her teaching brings together the weekly Torah portion, prayer, faith, relationships, family and festivals. Traditional commentary meets questions arising in contemporary life.

Her delivery combines emotional engagement, humor and attention to listeners’ experiences. Oral lectures and printed texts may involve distinct stages of preparation: her official website separately credits editor Yikrat Friedman’s contribution.

Books and public teaching

Her books include Parasha VeIsha, Hazmana LeSimcha on joy, the Passover Haggadah Vehigadt and Yearning to Return on Yom Kippur. She publishes in Hebrew, with some work translated into English. Her teaching also circulates through radio and digital publications.

She helped develop the Conference of European Rabbis’ educational program for rebbetzins. Its official report of a Prague gathering in December 2024 identifies her as the program’s president. This work supports women involved in the spiritual and communal life of Jewish congregations.
