Rabbi Auriel Zilbiger: the Jewish home and married life

Rabbi Auriel Zilbiger appears in publishing and library records under his full name, Abraham Auriel HaKohen Silbiger. His work is connected with Jewish life in Basel, Switzerland. According to his publisher Morascha, he grew up in Basel, studied at yeshivot in Kriens and Gateshead, and received rabbinical ordination from Rabbi Benzion Snyders in Basel.

Books about the Jewish home

Morascha publishes his German-language Die reine jüdische Ehe, an introduction to Jewish marriage law, Shabbat candle lighting and separating challah. The National Library of Israel also records books in his Ozer Yisrael series, as well as Chana Shel Chana and Ma’agal HaOnot, covering practical halachah and Jewish family life.

Nature and the relationship between spouses

In our magazine his name accompanies the Harmony in Nature and Marriage series and articles on Shabbat and festival candles. The changing seasons provide an image through which he explains married life and the meaning of family-purity laws. These writings introduce the subject and its underlying ideas; personal practical questions depend on their circumstances and should be discussed with a knowledgeable rabbi.
